Office syndrome: start with physiotherapy or see a doctor?

Neck and shoulder pain from long hours at a desk has several routes. Here is what physiotherapy packages usually cover, and when it is worth seeing a doctor first.

This is general information for comparing packages — not individual medical advice, and not a substitute for seeing a doctor.

What a physiotherapy package usually covers

An entry package is usually a first assessment plus one treatment session. Course packages of 5–10 sessions bring the per-session price down. Check whether the first assessment is included in the price or billed separately.

When to see a doctor first

If you have numbness radiating into an arm or leg, weakness, severe or persistent pain, a fever alongside it, or the pain followed an accident, see a doctor for assessment before starting physiotherapy.
